 Hot Water Jug
A project about warmth on a cold Vuurtoreneiland in Amsterdam. Only accessible by boat, this Island consists of a summer and a winter restaurant. Several short stay rooms are also available in old concrete bunkers, heated by wooden stoves, the only heat source. I wanted to bring some comfort for the guests by designing a hot water jug.
Once the jug is on the stove filled with water, it will not heat up in an instant, but slowly during the night until it reaches the right temperature. A primitive and simple way to wash up in the morning, enhanced by warm water.
